What is an apostille?
An apostille is a standardised certificate that authenticates the origin of a public document — a degree, birth certificate, or company paper — so it can be recognised in another country. It was created by the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention to replace the longer chain of embassy legalisation between member countries. Over 125 countries are members and accept an apostille between each other. The catch for UAE residents is simple: the UAE is not one of those members.
Does the UAE accept an apostille?
