Turkish Certificate Attestation in the UAE
Turkish certificate attestation makes documents issued in Turkey — diplomas, marriage and birth certificates, company records — legally valid for use in the UAE. Although Turkey is a Hague Apostille member, the UAE is not, so a Turkish apostille alone isn’t accepted here: the document needs consular legalisation through the UAE Embassy in Turkey and a final MOFA stamp in the UAE. We handle the whole chain, including notarised Arabic translation.

The Turkey-to-UAE attestation chain
What is Turkish document attestation?
Turkish document attestation is the legal process that confirms a document issued in Turkey is genuine so it will be accepted by authorities in another country. For most Hague-member destinations the process is streamlined through an Apostille, applied by the local Governor’s Office (Valilik) or a relevant judicial authority in Turkey. For destinations that don’t accept the Apostille — including the UAE — a full consular legalisation chain is required instead.
Apostille or consular legalisation — which do you need?
It depends on where the document is going. A Turkish Apostille is enough for another Hague Convention country. But the UAE is not a Hague member, so for use in the UAE an apostille on its own isn’t accepted. Instead the document is authenticated in Turkey, legalised by the UAE Embassy in Ankara or Istanbul, and finally stamped by MOFA in the UAE. We advise on the right route before we begin.
The Turkey-to-UAE attestation process
- Turkish authentication — the document is notarised and authenticated by the relevant Turkish authority (the Governor’s Office / Valilik, or a judicial authority), with a certified translation where required.
- UAE Embassy legalisation (Ankara/Istanbul) — the UAE mission in Turkey verifies the Turkish authority’s signature and applies its diplomatic stamp.
- MOFA attestation (UAE) — the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs applies the final stamp, making the document valid across UAE government, academic and corporate use.
Why is Turkish attestation required in the UAE?
UAE authorities won’t accept an un-attested Turkish document. Attestation is required for:
- Employment visas and professional licensing
- Family visa sponsorship and residency
- University admissions and academic recognition
- Business setup and corporate transactions
- Legal proceedings and government dealings
Which Turkish documents can we attest?
Educational — diplomas, degree certificates, transcripts and professional certifications.
Personal & civil — birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates.
Commercial — trade and company records, powers of attorney, corporate resolutions and invoices.
Certified Arabic translation
UAE authorities generally require Arabic documentation, so Turkish documents usually need a certified legal translation alongside the attested original. We arrange Ministry of Justice–approved legal translation so the file is ready to submit in one pass.
How long does it take, and what does it cost?
Timelines depend on the document type and the Turkish authority involved, plus the embassy step. Government, embassy and translation fees are charged separately from our service fee and shown transparently up front. Send us your document and we’ll confirm the exact route, timeline and an itemised quote before we start.
Who needs Turkish attestation in the UAE?
You’ll need Turkish document attestation if you are moving to the UAE for work and your employer requires an attested degree; sponsoring family members and need attested birth or marriage certificates; enrolling in a UAE university; setting up or registering a business with Turkish corporate documents; or handling a legal or property matter. If a UAE authority is asking for your Turkish document, it almost certainly needs the full attestation chain first.
Common mistakes that delay Turkish attestation
- Assuming a Turkish apostille is enough for the UAE — the consular route is still required
- Skipping the UAE Embassy step in Turkey
- Submitting a photocopy where the original or a certified copy is required
- Missing a certified Arabic translation where the authority requires one
- Names or details that don’t match your passport
- Skipping a step in the chain, so the document is returned
We check for these before submission, so your file moves through without avoidable delays.
