Beyond the Apostille: Spanish Documents for UAE Use

Spain has been a Hague Convention member since 1978, but Apostille stamps are not accepted by the UAE. Spanish documents must instead undergo Diplomatic Legalization.

Spanish Legalization Process

Step 1: Source Verification (Spain)

• Educational documents: Ministry of Education
• Personal & commercial documents: Notary Public or competent authority

Step 2: Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Madrid
Application of a legalization stamp authenticating prior verification.

Step 3: UAE Embassy Attestation – Madrid
Diplomatic legalization by the UAE Embassy.

Step 4: MOFA Attestation – UAE
Final legalization for UAE government acceptance.

Mandatory Legal Translation

Spanish documents must be translated into Arabic (preferred) or English. Translation is often required to be performed by a Sworn Translator (Traductor Jurado). We manage this end-to-end.
